How Miela Selects Influencers for iGaming Campaigns in Regulated Markets
Inside Miela's vetting process for iGaming creators: audience authenticity, GEO and age fit, compliance awareness and FTD quality. What operators should demand before any campaign goes live.
Does your casino, sportsbook or betting brand need creator-led player acquisition? Learn about our iGaming influencer marketing.
For iGaming operators, the wrong influencer does not just waste budget. In regulated markets, the wrong creator can put a license at risk. That is why Miela treats influencer selection for iGaming as a vetting process, not a search by follower count.
This is how we choose the creators behind casino, sportsbook and betting campaigns, and what we believe every operator should demand before a campaign goes live.
Why iGaming influencer selection is different
Gaming campaigns can afford experimentation. iGaming campaigns cannot. Betting promotion is regulated country by country, platforms apply their own gambling content policies, and the audience must be of legal age in the target GEO. A creator who looks perfect on paper can be unusable the moment you check their audience's age distribution or their history with bonus abuse content.
Selection in iGaming is therefore a filter for risk first and a filter for reach second.
The Miela vetting process
Every iGaming creator in our campaigns passes through the same checks:
- Audience authenticity: we analyze followers for bots, purchased engagement and incentivized traffic patterns through our anti-fraud systems. If the numbers are inflated, the creator is out. - GEO and age fit: we verify where the audience actually is and how old it is. A Chile campaign needs an adult Chilean audience, not global views. - Content and brand fit: we review the creator's past content, tone and community. The goal is a creator whose regular content already speaks to the players the operator wants. - Compliance awareness: creators must be able to work with mandatory disclaimers, age gates and responsible gambling messaging. We check this before signing, not after. - Performance history: where available, we look at previous branded campaigns and real conversion data, not vanity metrics.
What we measure instead of followers
Follower count tells you almost nothing in iGaming. What predicts campaign results is different: engagement quality from real users, audience concentration in the target GEO, watch time and retention on gambling-adjacent content, and the creator's ability to move viewers from content to a tracked action.
Because every Miela campaign runs through Envisioner, selection does not stop at launch. Creators are measured live on clicks, FTDs and retention, and underperformers are optimized or replaced during the campaign, not after it.
Operators should never have to guess who is promoting them. Vetting first, measurement always: that is what keeps iGaming campaigns compliant and profitable at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
How does Miela choose influencers for iGaming campaigns? Miela vets iGaming creators on audience authenticity, GEO and age fit, content fit, compliance awareness and past performance. Selection happens before signing, and measurement continues live through Envisioner during the campaign.
Does follower count matter in iGaming influencer marketing? Far less than operators assume. Audience authenticity, age distribution, GEO concentration and engagement quality predict FTDs better than follower counts, which can be inflated or purchased.
Does Miela work in regulated iGaming markets only? Yes. Miela runs iGaming campaigns exclusively in regulated markets, for licensed casino, sportsbook and betting operators, with each market's advertising rules built into the creator brief.
