StarSeries Season 20 Triples Its Audience as

Chief Marketing Officer
StarLadder StarSeries Season 20 more than tripled its peak viewership versus last year as Team Vitality beat Aurora 3-1 in the final.

StarLadder StarSeries Season 20 wrapped up with numbers that would have been unthinkable a year ago: roughly three and a half times the peak viewership of Season 19, with the grand final between Team Vitality and Aurora drawing more than 315,100 concurrent viewers, according to Esports Charts' analysis of the event. Vitality took the series 3-1, claiming their sixth title of 2026 and $200,000 in prize money.
The growth was not driven by a single factor. The 2026 lineup brought genuine star power, with Vitality, Aurora, FURIA and Natus Vincere all ranked inside the world's top 10 at the time, and with them came their home audiences: Portuguese-language peak viewership surged by more than 2,500%, and Turkish broadcasts, absent entirely last season, became the event's second-largest language.
Kick is no longer the alternative platform
The most striking figure in Esports Charts' report is where the audience watched. Kick captured more than 52% of the tournament's total hours watched, beating Twitch and YouTube on the event's biggest stage so far. The official StarLadder channel was the single most-watched channel, but community casters Alexandre "Gaules" Chiqueta and Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli were right behind, underlining how much of modern esports viewership flows through creator-led broadcasts rather than the main feed.
HLTV's coverage of the final adds the competitive layer: Aurora had beaten Vitality in the upper-bracket final, but Vitality reversed the result when it mattered, with Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut named MVP of the event, his 33rd career HLTV MVP award. Esports News UK's report frames it as Vitality's first trophy since May, ending a title drought for one of the scene's biggest organizations.
The co-streaming lesson for brands
Season 20 is a case study in what happens when a tournament meets its audience where it already lives. Doubling the number of broadcasting channels and letting community casters carry the event did not cannibalize the official stream; it multiplied the total. The result is a larger, more distributed audience that brand integrations can reach through many doors at once.
At Miela, this is the model we build campaigns around. When a tournament's audience lives on co-streams and creator channels, the brands that win are the ones inside those broadcasts, with the casters the community actually watches, not just on the official feed. Season 20's numbers are the clearest evidence yet that esports marketing budgets belong increasingly on the creator side of the screen.
